Welcome to Kangaroo Class one of the Lower School classes here at Cliffdale Primary Academy.

Autumn 2021

Welcome to Kangaroo class. We are a class of 6 children, 3 of whom are new to Cliffdale.

We have had a fantastic start to the school year. All of the children in Kangaroo class have been busy getting to know each other and the staff too.

We are all settling into class routines and we have been learning to use our visual schedules to independently move around the school.

We all like being outside and like to play on the bikes, scooters and with the bubbles. There has been lots of spontaneous communication for bubbles! We have been making requests using symbols, Makaton signs and using our voices.

Our favourite time of the day is ‘bucket’ time. We all join in with the ‘bucket’ song and we like noisy toys that make us jump and laugh!

On a Monday we go swimming at Redwood Park. Some of us have been very brave about getting on the minibus for the first time, whilst others have been courageous about getting into the pool.

Our topic this term is ‘Messy Mixtures.’ We participated in our first topic launch day and tolerated lots of mucky mess. We all tried really hard to sweep up the mess that was left in the hall by some of the teachers. We learned to use brooms, dust pan and brushes and even the hoover!

We can’t wait to see what the rest of this term has in store for us.
